Oh, it has been a while since my last post… almost 4 months of gathering recipes here and there and enjoying the summer because before we can realize it winter is stepping in.
So, during these few months I had been in and out and trying different exercise programs, the last one has been hard and it’s taking time to really get into it, adding up that days are just beautiful and all I want is go for a run, bike ride or simply walk or rest under the sun. I have also been practicing some meditation and kundalini ( I’m totally new, but this is helpful no only to sleep, relax, reconnect to our inner self but also to go through hard times), tried binaural beats and healing meditations to alternatively treat a benign tumor and this last thing is why I have been digging into raw fruits an veggies as well as curcuma, ginger, cayenne and an homeopathic treatment to see if it shrinks while waiting for the next monitoring.
Speaking about today’s… spinach!!! ohh yeah… spinach!
We have tons growing in our garden, so we pick a bunch of leaves and they keep growing leaving us with no choice but to use them in one of the best smoothies we’ve ever tried, not mentioning the combo of properties included in these green little leaves.
the list is long but it’s worth to mention that their properties include anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory, provides iron, proteins, vitamins, minerals, lowers blood pressure, bone health and it’S good for hair and skin, so only with spinach you have one of the healthiest foods right in your blender, now adding to this some banana and citrus will give you Popeye strength to start a day with energy.
The workout for today was 8km run, taking my time, enjoying the view, the blue sky, the different greens blending in the mountains, the sun warming up my skin while the air was refreshing my lungs and listening some music; took me 55min to come back home with a nice tan.
1 lime (peeled and quartered)
1 lemon (peeled and quartered)
2 bananas (preferably very ripe and frozen, if not add some ice)
1 1/2 or 2 oranges (only the juice)
1 cup of spinach
*water if necessary, depending on the desired consistency
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
